A Dirty Farmer

My name is Sam, a dirty farmer and writer at the Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm in Maine. Welcome to Wild Hearts & Harvests, where I share serialized stories of sex and love on the farm, homestead, or off-grid cabin in Maine! I call it: “farm-smut”.

Which came first?

Looking back, it’s hard to say which came first. The farming or the smut-writing. I’ve been doing both since I was in my teens and for the same reason. They allowed an escape from the stresses and traumas of my life.

As time went on and my journey into farming unraveled before me, my stories took on a wild and gamey flavor. Ashamed and embarrassed by the depths of my own passion, I hid my affinity for romance writing. For years I shared my farm-story through the Runamuk blog, publishing articles under the umbrella of agriculture. It wasn’t until I was in my forties that I came out of the closet as a romance writer.

Why Farm-Smut?

Something of a wild woman, I write stories that I myself want to read. Stories of sex and love, romance and the possibility of what might be… And all set on the farm, homestead, or off-grid cabin in Maine, whose mountains make my heart sing.

I’m hoping against hope that I am not alone in that longing for connection to nature, for a life on the land, independent and self-reliant. A life shared with livestock and wildlife, practicing age-old skills like baking bread and preserving the harvest. An existence reliant upon growing and raising food. Or foraging, hunting and fishing amid the wilderness.

That’s why I write “farm-smut”.

What You Can Expect at Wild Hearts & Harvests

Living my life seasonally, in accordance with the rhythms of nature, I spend half the year farming, and the other half writing.

Summer: During the warmer seasons, when I’m busy with garden and livestock, readers will see a minimum of one new chapter each month. Sometimes a surprise chapter, if I am able.

Winter: In the colder half of the year, new chapters will be more forthcoming at one a week.

Mostly Free: All chapters are drafts, awaiting professional editing before their final publication in book form, and as such are mostly free to read. Stories are subject to change in revision and published books may not be the same, so please consider buying my books!

Spicy Bits: Will be paywalled. If you want to read my writing about “his throbbing member”, I respectfully request that you pay for the priviledge.

Historical Romance: Coming Soon! I’ve long fantasized about writing a romance set amid the Maine frontier, during the 1800-1900’s. Currently researching this time period with the notion of beginning a second serialized novel.
